Emicela’s story begins in a small stall in the Central Market under the direction of Mr. Emiliano Arencibia Rivero, an astute Terorense with a special instinct for business and the wisdom of the people of the countryside. It was in 1963 that he acquired a coffee roastery in Schamann, and the emblematic Emicela brand was born. This name comes from the union of Emiliano and Araceli, affectionately known as “Cela” in family circles.
María Araceli Hernández was present throughout the company’s journey, being a solid figure alongside Emiliano Arencibia. What began as a dream shared by two restless Terorenses has blossomed into a leading multinational industrial and distribution company. Currently, Emicela is present in Cape Verde, Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Maldives and Spain, being an example of success and perseverance in the business world.
